TERMS OF USE / CODE OF CONDUCT

These are the terms of use to which every member using interactive areas of this site agrees to adhere. This would include yet not be limited to the message boards.

Communicating online is not the same as communicating face-to-face or over the phone. Others will only see your words and cannot benefit from facial expressions or tone of voice. Please pay careful attention to how you use your words.

Remember that the words you enter in a burst of passion or indignant anger will be there for you and everyone else to see, sometimes long after those intense feelings have passed. That's not meant to discourage spontaneity, but to offer a friendly reminder of the long-term existence and effects of what you post.

You may, from time to time, find yourself in disagreement with someone else's opinion. At times like these, please keep in mind it's safer and more polite to take issue with the comments rather than with the person who made them.

By using this Forum, you agree to not post any of the following material:

• Any communication that is intended to harass, belittle, humiliate, threaten or cause embarrassment to a fellow member

• Personal attacks against users of this board and any administrator, coach, player, or prospect

• Material that contains vulgar, obscene or indecent language or images

• Material that defames, abuses or threatens others

• Material with the intent to elicit negative responses (flaming)

• Statements that are bigoted, hateful or racially offensive

• Any communication that contains spam (multiple copies in one area or the same communication in multiple areas)

• Material that advocates illegal activity

• Unauthorized copyrighted material

• Unauthorized personal information (name, address, phone number, e-mail, etc.) of other posters, players, fans or administrators

• Advertising or any form of commercial solicitation

• Material that impedes or otherwise prohibits communication; disrupts the discussion including, without limitation, using fan names in topical boards that are offensive to the topic, the team, the sport and/or its fans, and repeatedly posting off-topic messages in a topical message board

You also agree to abide by the following rules:

1. You will not create a new topic (i.e. hit the "new topic" button) if that topic or a very similar/related one already exists. Always see if there is an existing topic to reply to, and only start a new one if you are sure the topic hasn't been discussed recently.

2. You will send all suggestions, complaints, compliments, etc. to Site Admin or a moderator via private message (click here). If applicable, please include a link to the topic in question so we do not have to search for it. Messages of this nature posted on the boards will be ignored and deleted.

3. Your signature image will not exceed 450 pixels in width and 150 pixels in height. For those unfamiliar with pixels, they are roughly half a millimetre in size. Images wider than 450 pixels will stretch the screen out to the side too far on many monitors.

4. The image in your signature will not exceed 50 kb. Not every one is on high speed and images weighing more than 50 kb will lead to slowdowns for many. If you are unsure how to optimize your image so that it meets the weight requirements, please contact a Site Admin or a moderator via private message.

5. You will provide a source link or credit for all stories and rumors posted. Please do not post the whole article. Simply include a brief synopsis or the first paragraph along with the link.

6. You will not confuse the message board with a search engine. This board is intended discussion; do not use it to get other people to find information you could easily find yourself on a search engine such as Google.com.

7. If you are a fan of a rival NHL team or if you don't have the same opinion, you will not attempt to antagonize other members. Biased viewpoints should be expected, so if you must respond, please do so in a respectful manner. (and Vice versa)


All these rules are necessary and were created to fix significant problems with the board. You are a member of this board so, the rules here will be different than you may be used to on smaller sites.

Statements or postings which violate the above terms will be deleted upon discovery. Users who violate the Code of Conduct may receive a warning. Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, a user may lose his account temporarily or permanently. Account suspensions will be made at the sole discretion of the administrators. Users may not have more than one account.

Any user posting on the hockeyetdivers.forumactif.com message boards implicitly agrees to these rules regardless of whether they have been read or not.
